Detox detox, detox, it seems like wherever you look these days someone is talking about a detox. But what exactly is a detox? And what can a detox do for you? There is one primary purpose to every single detox. And that purpose is to rid your body of any bad toxins and cleanse you on the inside. Toxins are basically bad things in your body that have negative effects on your overall health.

Now, already this probably seems quite appealing to you, you’d quite like to be cleansed and free of toxins. Even if you don’t quite understand what it means, it sounds healthy right? Well, the good news is, it is healthy. Ridding your body of toxins can have excellent benefits for your healthy, as well as your beauty.

There are lots of ways someone can go on a detox, but they all usually last a few weeks. A 14 day detox is perhaps the most common, just because people are impatient, and it’s pretty quick to complete! Over these two weeks, you will start to see drastic improvements in the overall health and look of your body. A detox can help your body function a lot better, meaning everything works closer to its full potential. It can lead to your metabolism speeding up, and you find that your body starts burning fat a lot quicker than it used to. What this means is that you’ll be losing more body fat and ultimately getting slimmer and healthier. I must point out that you won’t get slim just by going on a detox and doing nothing else. A detox acts as a boost to help speed up the fat loss process, but you still need to exercise and eat right.

But this isn’t all a detox does, in fact, detoxes can be great for your skin too. Some toxins in your body are the cause of many skin problems, like acne, so a detox can help stop these problems occurring. By going on a detox for just a fortnight, you could start to see your skin become much clearer and healthy looking. Obviously, if you’re not cleaning your skin, you’ll struggle to see the benefits. Detoxing can get rid of bad things inside your body, but you still need to take care of external things like dirt and grease that clog up your pores. If you want to improve the overall health of your skin, then try adding a two-week detox to your normal beauty regime.

Going on a detox can improve other aspects of your health too, you can find yourself more energized and upbeat. A detox will also boost your immune system making it harder for you to get ill all the time. In fact, some people go on detoxes when they’ve fallen ill to try and rid the body of the disease.

At the end of the day, a detox can benefit you in many ways. It can improve your appearance and keep you nice and healthy. If you’ve never tried a detox, then why not give one a go!
