The Best Holiday Ideas for People with Children | Travel & My Motherhood Diary

What does the best family holiday look like? Well, there’s no single answer to that question. Why not consider these options if you’re going away with your children this year?

A Cycling Holiday
If your children are old enough to ride a bike easily, you could go for a cycling holiday. These are great fun because it keeps the family active, allows you to see the countryside and they’re very cheap. All you need is some rental bikes and somewhere to sleep at night, and that’s about it!

So, where can you go for the best cycling holidays? Well, that’s the great thing about cycling holidays, you can do them pretty much anywhere. Having said that, there are certain countries where cycling paths and routes are best. Europe is definitely the place to go, especially Italy and Holland.

Family Friendly Cruises
Cruises are not something that many parents consider when planning a holiday. But the stereotype of cruises being filled with old people in retirement simply isn’t true. There’s a whole variety of cruises to enjoy. Yes, some of them cater for people in retirement, but lots cater specifically for parents and children.

Do your research and make sure you book a cruise that is for families. They’ll offer all kinds of activities and games to keep the kids entertained throughout the time on the ship. And you’ll also have the opportunity to explore lots of different locations when the ship stops at ports around the world.

Lapland
The ideal winter holiday destination is Lapland. It recreates the North Pole for the children, and the natural landscape is great for the adults to explore. They can go and visit Santa Claus and have fun in the snow. It’s like nowhere else on Earth, and every child loves it. It’s located in Finland so you can see the rest of the country while you’re there too.

One of the main attractions in Lapland is the husky holidays for families. They’re fun and exhilarating. The huskies pull you along while you hold on and enjoy the wintry landscape pass you by. What better way to spend a winter holiday than that?

A House Swap Holiday
Paying for hotels can be very expensive; it can be a big drain on parents looking for a fun family holiday. But one way to get around this problem is to take part in a house swap with a family in a different part of the world. This might sound like a strange and risky idea, but it can be a great way of saving money.

It’s not even particularly risky. There are companies and websites that facilitate these kinds of holidays. They make sure that the process is done safely and securely so that your property will be in good hands. You won’t have to pay for expensive accommodation, and you can go to any city or destination in the world!

Finding the ideal holiday when you have children can be difficult, so give these ideas some consideration.

Your Guide To Getting All Dressed Up For A First Date | Lifestyle

You’ve bagged yourself a date with the perfect guy - hopefully, anyway, and you want to ensure that you get his attention. Instead of doing the usual panicked search through your wardrobe a couple of hours before for an outfit, shop in advance.

First dates can be stressful, especially if they are with someone who you don’t know very well. Sitting down to eat dinner with a guy you've met once is always going to be daunting. But if there’s a chance that something amazing could come of it, it’s worth all the hassle.

To make an impact (and a great first impression), choosing a fabulous outfit is crucial. However, there is no need to stress out about it, as I’ve got you covered.
dinner date 4.jpg

Shop at least three days before
As the big night gets closer, the chances are that you will start to get nervous. This will make shopping for the perfect outfit impossible, as you will be too stressed out to think clearly.

Shopping when you are feeling stressed is a nightmare. Nothing looks quite right; every outfit makes you look fat, and anything that you do like is just too expensive. That’s why, it’s a good idea to shop for your outfit a few days before so that you are chilled out.

Double up
If the location of the date hasn’t been confirmed yet, it’s best to have two outfits ready. One should be casual and the other a little more formal, that way whatever destination he picks, you have something that will wow him.

For a date to the cinema, a bar or a casual restaurant, skinnies, a printed blouse and a pair of heels is the perfect combination. If the date is in a posh restaurant or the theatre, a sophisticated dress and cardigan is a good outfit choice.

Plan your accessories in advance
As well as choosing what you are going to wear before the big night, think about your accessories. On the night itself, you could end up running late getting ready, so knowing what little extras you want to add to your outfit is a good idea.

The type of jewelry that you opt for will depend on whether you choose to go with the formal or casual outfit. Or, you could choose pieces that work for both looks, so not matter what, you're covered. As well as earrings, a necklace and bracelets, think about any other items that could add style to your look.

Today, many watch styles, like Skagen watches, are designed to help add an extra sparkle. They work well for both casual and formal events, and so are ideal for wearing on a first date. When you’re on a date, it’s nice to be able to casually check the time without having to get your phone out. Wearing a watch is perfect for this, as well, of course, for adding extra style.

Wear something red
If you want to add a burst of brightness to your look, opt for something red. Whether that’s a read necklace or a red top, it doesn’t matter.

Research has shown that according to men, red is the sexiest colour a woman can wear. So if you want your date to fall head over heels for you, wear something red.

First dates are daunting, there’s no two ways about it. However, by dressing confidently, you can make your first date a little less nerve-wracking.

Glasses Are The King Of Fashion Accessories! And Here's Why... | Beauty

For years, people with glasses have been something of an easy target. Apparently, having poor eyesight and needing glasses is hilarious! Many a person has worn some specs and been called ‘four-eyes’ by a comedic genius with perfect eyesight. Now, though, glasses wearers are the ones laughing. It turns out that glasses aren't actually that geeky at all. In fact, they’re pretty damn cool.

These days, glasses have become a must-have fashion accessory for almost anyone. No doubt you’ve seen some of your fave celebs wearing glasses on the red carpet. You probably thought; hang on, they haven’t worn glasses before?! More and more people are wearing glasses because they look cool. But why? What makes the simple spectacle such a sought after fashion item? Well, if you read on, you just might find out!

(Image by Katie on Flickr https://flic.kr/p/6ZQ9v) 67865829_18e7655583_z.jpg

Styles

The great thing about glasses is that they come in so many different styles. There’s literally a style for anyone. This is part of the reason they’ve become so popular, so many different groups can wear them. One of the most popular style of glasses in recent times have been the ‘hipster’ glasses. These are usually quite big wayfarer glasses that come in various colours. And then you have all the other different styles too. There are circle-rimmed glasses that give a unique style and compliment certain outfits. You’ll normally find someone looking for a casual rockstar look going for small circle-rimmed glasses.

There are loads of other styles and varieties too, but I can’t go through them all! At the end of the day, you get the point I’m making here. Glasses are very stylish and appeal to people of various styles. No matter what look you’re going for, there will be glasses for you.

Lens Or No Lens

You may be reading this and assuming that only people with bad eyesight can wear glasses. And, yes, a lot of the time people who wear glasses actually need them. However, it’s become common for people to buy glasses without prescription lenses. They either get them with a lens fitted that does nothing to enhance eyesight. Or, they just have the lenses taken out completely, which makes for a very quirky look.

Don’t be worried by this if you do need glasses. You can still get plenty of varifocal glasses online as well as other prescription lenses. And, they’ll still look just as stylish! What I’m trying to say here is that glasses are popular because anyone can wear them. You don’t have to damage your eyesight just to be able to look good in glasses!

Colourful

Another great thing about glasses is that they can be colourful. Never underestimate the power that a little colour can do for a look. Something as simple as a splash of red from your glasses can do wonders. The great thing is; they come in so many different colours. Think of your favourite colour, and I bet they do glasses, in that shade, for you. It’s always handy to have a colourful little accessory to give your outfits something of a boost.

Plus, it means you can buy a number of glasses frames in different colours and just swap out the lenses (if you need them). By doing this, you can mix and match colours depending on moods/seasons. For example, in the summer, you can wear lots of bright coloured glasses. Whereas, in the winter, you can go for plainer shades of white, grey and blue.

Brands, Brands, Brands

One of the main reasons glasses have become popular is because of the brands. Some of the biggest names in fashion are making pairs of glasses. People are deciding to buy glasses just because they’re made by a certain brand. They want that brand recognition; they want to catch people’s eyes. When they go out for coffee, they want the waiter to notice their new Armani specs. It sounds superficial, but we all like to wear fancy things. Sometimes, an expensive pair of branded glasses can take a whole outfit to the next level.

Eye Contact

Have you ever noticed that when you speak to someone, you tend to make eye contact? I know, crazy, right?! But, people in fashion have started to realise that you spend most of your time looking at other people’s faces. And guess where you wear glasses? On your face! So, glasses have now become such an important accessory. People are going to be looking at your face all day, so a nice pair of glasses won’t go unnoticed.

It’s funny how glasses have gone from being an embarrassing thing, to a very fashionable one. So, if you’re looking for a new accessory, why not try some non-prescription glasses? Or, if you always wear contacts, now’s the time to switch back to some stylish specs!

8 Things You Need for a Healthy Relationship | Lifestyle

Are you wondering if your relationship is healthy? Do you want to take the steps to improve your relationship, or simply make sure you get it right with the next one? This post can help! I’m going to talk about 8 things you need for a healthy relationship, so you know yours is as good as it can be!

1. Complete Trust
You and your partner need to trust each other. If you don’t, you need to think about why that is. Do you have issues from the past? Did something happen with another partner? Or are you just insecure? Ask yourself honestly and figure out what you can do to fix it. A relationship isn’t healthy without trust!

2. Complete Honesty
You and your partner need to feel comfortable being honest with one another. If you can’t be honest, or one of you feels the need to hide things, you’re going to run into problems somewhere down the line!

3. Lots of Fun
What is a healthy partnership without having fun? You and your partner should enjoy doing things together, spending quality time with one another and keeping the spark alive. If you both have different ideas of fun, make sure you take it in turns to do what the other enjoys. If you both have fun, it shouldn’t be long before you receive one of the most beautiful engagement rings!

4. The Ability to Communicate
Communication is the key to any healthy relationship. Too many people end up arguing over things that could have easily been resolved, as they don’t know how to communicate properly. Make sure you know how to speak to your partner, and you can both work towards a solution. It should never turn into a slanging match!

5. The Ability to Compromise
The ability to compromise is extremely important. This is the only way you’ll be able to met both of your needs adequately!
7874090632_10893b7006_z.jpg

6. Respect for Your Partner
You and your partner need to respect one another for who you are. Let them be who they want to be, don’t try to change them. Speak to them with the respect and hopefully they’ll do the same for you. Respect their privacy, and the right for them to have a life of their own.

7. The Ability to Let Go
All couples will argue from time to time, which is why the ability to let go is so important. If you say you’ve forgiven/forgotten something, make sure it’s true. You can’t keep on rehashing the past!

8. Love
One of the most important aspects of a healthy relationship: love! You and your partner need to love each other to work. Remember, feelings of love fade after a while. When you’ve been together a few years, your hormones die down and you stop getting butterflies. This is why it’s so important you keep the spark alive. If you can do that, then your relationship will mature and you’ll have a wonderful life together.

I hope you’ve found what you needed and you and your partner live happily ever after!

Help Your Friend Celebrate Her Birthday In Style | Lifestyle

Does one of your closest friends have a birthday coming up? Whether it’s a big birthday, like her 30th, or the passing of just another year, you will want to make her day special for her.

Birthdays are important, they mark the day of a miracle happening, and so they deserve to be celebrated. However, sometimes when it comes to thinking of ways, to help your friend celebrate her special day, it’s easy to get stuck for ideas.
blowing out candles 2.jpg

To help you celebrate your friend’s special day in style, here are a few tips and ideas that should come in handy.

Make the day all about her
If you are lucky enough to spend the whole day with your friend on her birthday, ensure that you make the day all about her. Think about the type of things that she loves to do, and plan a day that includes doing all of her favourite things.

For instance, if your friend is an ice cream lover, make sure to pop into her favourite ice cream parlour at some point in her special day. If your friend is someone who loves spending time at her favourite spa - who doesn’t, why not book a spa day for the two of you?

Whatever you choose to do to make her day special, make sure that you keep everything that you have planned a surprise.

Get her a gift that she’ll love
A birthday isn’t a birthday without presents, am I right? So make sure to get your friend an awesome present that she will love. It can sometimes be hard choosing the perfect present, especially when you are stuck for ideas.

However, the key is to take your time, think about what she likes and an idea will come to you - trust me. Try not to get her a gift that she may have had before, you can find lots of unusual gifts for her online, so it’s worth taking a look.

If all else fails, opt for a bottle of her favourite perfume, a bunch of flowers, and a box of chocolates.

Bake her a cake
If you want to make your friend’s birthday extra special, why not bake her a birthday cake? Everyone loves cake, and it’s not a birthday without a slice of cake, so making her a cake is a great way to celebrate the day.

If you can, try to find out what her favourite cake is. Is she a chocolate cake lover? Is she a fan old a good old Victoria sponge? Or, does she prefer something a little bit different, like an orange and polenta cake?

If your friend isn’t a fan of cake, you could always make her favourite treat instead. Perhaps you could make birthday brownies, cookies or marshmallows, instead?

There are lots of simple ways that you can make your friend’s birthday a day to remember. Make her a cake, buy her a present and spend time with her, and you’ll make her birthday a great success.

The Journey to Land your Dream Job | Lifestyler

We’ve all day dreamt about what it would be like to actually have a career that doesn’t feel like a job, but a hobby that we’re lucky enough to get paid for. Because let’s face it, there’s a difference between a job that pays the bills and a fulfilling career.

But whilst dreams like this might have been classed as just that, many years ago, the fact is that times are changing, and the barriers that once existed between us and our aspirations have gates and paths that can us there.

The world itself has changed, technology has revolutionised the way we communicate and the way in which we’re able to gain information.

Throw out the rule book of the conventional ways of bagging that career, and kick start it with a few of these tips.

Apply even if they don’t exist
Whether you’re graduating or simply looking for a new challenge, when applying for traditional job adverts, you’re probably one amongst many. With the interview process being tedious and the application process even more so, be bold and brave and apply for jobs that don’t even exist.
It’s sounds a little crazy, but if you love a particular brand or company, just send across your CV and show them what you’re made of. You never know if they’re thinking of expanding and along you’ve come fully equipped to fill the role.

Make yourself stand out by doing a little personal research so you can make our grand entrance more special, does the manager or director love a particular food or sweets? Perhaps you could send a sweet hamper to them along with a copy of your CV and portfolio on a business card USB stick.
This touch will impress them instantly, and even just out of interest to find out who you are they’ll be call you up for an interview in no time.

Keep Learning
Great companies hire people who are willing to learn, and not afraid to educate themselves.
If you’ve got zero experience in your dream job then it’s time to do something about it!
Volunteering your skills, and taking part in free online courses will show that you’re passionate about what you want to do, and will impress your future employer. Even starting a blog in the area you want to go into can massively help you to demonstrate the skills you have.

Be in it for more than money
Money certainly makes the world go round but it never bought happiness. Your dream job may include a better pay packet but what else are you sacrificing? Will your job have to become your life?
Do you research into what that job role really means and how others are handling it. From stalking them on social media to checking out how the customers perceive the company.

It’s worthwhile getting to know if that dream will still feel as special even when you’ve secured the role.

DIY Decor Ideas for Your Bathroom | Lifestyle

I just love getting my DIY hat on, and creative DIY decor for my home is one of my favourite things to do. Lately I’ve decided to focus on my bathroom, and I thought a few of you might appreciate my tips. Here are my DIY decor ideas - hope you like them!

Make Your Own Funky Wallpaper
I love the idea of making your own funky wallpaper. You’ll get lots of compliments on it, and you’ll be super proud when you can tell people you made it yourself! You’ll probably inspire all of your friends to do the same! Use the pages out of a vintage book, for example, to make something quirky! You could even make some of your own accessories if you want your bathroom to be especially unique.

Include a Feature Wall
A feature wall in the bathroom is a must. It can give depth, and make the place look so much more fun. Do it with tiles, paint, or wallpaper. You can find inspiration online to suit your tastes, so you’ll never be short of ideas. It’s a really quick and easy way to give your bathroom a new look!

DIY Toilet Seat Design
Rather than buy a boring old toilet seat, why not create your own cool toilet seat design? You could hand paint a design, or use decals to funk it up say Bathshop321. Acrylic is another good option!

Use Stains and Paint to Create a New Look
If you have wooden elements in your bathroom that you really can’t be bothered or afford to replace, use stains and paint to create a new look. Staining and painting the wood will make it look completely new if you do a good job. It’s pretty easy to do, even for a beginner. If you’d rather get a distressed look to make your furniture look older, you can do this with sandpaper.

Update Your Product Bottles
Take a look at your product bottles for a sec. I think that sometimes, as much as I love certain brands, they can mess up the look of the bathroom. I like to make them more uniformed by putting them into clear glasses/bottles. I label them if I need to, but this looks so much tidier than different brands all over the place!

Create a Cool Towel Holder
A cool towel holder will differentiate your bathroom from the rest. A funky storage solution is the way forward! There are lots of ways you can do this, but my favourite idea is a metal laundry basket on wheels. Something like this would look amazing in a vintage or shabby chic style bathroom.

Invest in a new Shower
You can pick up new showers for a small price now, adding a new one will modernise your bathroom even if you're on a budget. How about looking at these Daryl Showers?

Use a Tray Tree for Storage
Take a tray tree, the kind you’d probably put cupcakes on, and use it for storage in the bathroom. Layer on your makeup and products that you use regularly in there to tidy things up. You’ll be able to find things much easier when you’re getting ready in the morning!

Try these DIY ideas for your bathroom and you’ll personalise it and make it unique. If you have any great tips you’d like to share with me, feel free. Come back soon for more!

Yet another stationery wish list #3 | Stationery & Lifestyle

Welcome to another instalment of my stationery wish lists. As you all know by now I am pretty much a stationery addict and certainly a planner girl. I haven't featured my Erin Condren Life Planner on the blog yet, or my new Erin Condren notebook that matches my planner. I'm such a stationery geek I know. I thought it would be about time that I started to show a couple more of the hyped up and essential products in a stationery addict's world.

First up we have the sought after Kikki K time planner. These are quite hold to get hold of in the UK, they have to be imported direct from the seller or can quite often be found on eBay from Australia. The only problem is the hefty customs charges on top which can bulk them up to over £60 a go. The watermelon planner is a new addition on their site at the moment, teamed with the matching ballpoint pen this is a super cute planner and will definitely turn heads at Uni. Plus with it being a time planner, you can get the inserts for the following year, or even download personalised ones from Etsy.

Next up we have a new pencil case I've just bought. I've measured it up and hopefully it will be big enough to house my pens. I needed something cute, pastel and with sparkle prints essential to match my Erin Condren planner and notebook, and the matching pastel rainbow tassel accessory. This looks so much better than my boring Kate Spade red striped pencil case, or the pencil tin I bought initially from Wilko's folk stationery range as featured in this post here.

The Cath Kinston 'little birds' lanyard and matching travel wallet are essential for my daily commute. The travel wallet is ideal to keep my train tickets in, and makes it easier to show them when I get on/off the train. The lanyard is stylish and perfect to display my student card.

I picked the geometric print sticky notes as they come on a pad and have a closing front preventing them from becoming dirty. They are very sticky and hold extremely well on paper. I have a couple of these sets now and they are essential for making notes. I've also picked a couple of Kate Spade desktop accessories too, one being the sticky note set because it's rose gold and you can't get enough of sticky notes; and the second is the tackle box. The tackle box is ideal for making sure your desk is neat and tidy, and you have everything to hand in an instant.

Seriously though, how cute are these nail polish highlighters? Pulling one of these out of your pencil case when you're studying a hair and beauty course will surely wow the other students and make them super jealous.

Last but by no means least are a couple of pens from Paperchase. I always think it's ideal to have one black pen to write in, this needs to be comfortable and easy to write with, then I think it's important to have a coloured pen just in case you need to highlight your notes, underline, make other markings etc. The multi pen is ideal, several coloured pens in one meaning it takes up less space in your pencil case and you have much more choice!

Baker Days Letterbox Cakes | Lifestyle

When Baker Days posted a Tweet looking for bloggers to review their letterbox cake*, I jumped at the chance and instantly replied. I mean, being in hospital is pretty drab, so what better than having a cake ready for me when I got home?

It was ideal, because when I arrived home it arrived the same late morning and really cheered up my day. I was a little selfish and has the whole cake to myself, they are quite small but obviously this is needed as they are posted through your letterbox. You can still get 3-4 pieces cut out of the cake though, and for £14.99 I think this is a bargain.

I asked for my blog logo (at the time, before Jemma of Dorkface designed me this brand spanking new one, awesome right?!) to be printed on the cake, and doesn't it look amazing? They have centred the text for me, and placed the sparkles around the cake. It looks absolutely awesome, too good to eat. Or not, no cake is too good for me to eat haha.

The cake was absolutely delicious, lots of vanilla flavouring in the sponge which is what I love. The sponge was moist and crumbled well. Absolutely delectable! The fondant topping wasn't overly sweet or sickly like some can be, and worked so well with the sponge. It was definitely freshly made, and I could only highly recommend them them.

Delivery was very quick, and the cake arrived in a 'just for you' tin to keep it well packaged during it's journey. The tin was fitted inside a box with a card, balloons and candles; making it absolutely perfect alternative to a card for birthdays (https://www.bakerdays.com/categories/personalised/birthdaycakes).

We all know everyone at the moment are receiving their GCSE and A Level results and having their places accepted at colleges and University, so wouldn't it make such a great little gift to celebrate the occasion? They have lots of images to choose from for all kinds of occasions, and you can even upload your own photo should you wish to personalise it a little more. Not only do they offer letterbox cakes, you can have cupcakes (https://www.bakerdays.com/categories/cup-cakes/) and larger cakes delivered too!

Lets have a staycation this summer in Cornwall or Devon | Lifestyle & Travel

Anstey's Cove in Devon

You may recall I wrote a blog post a while back about having a summer holiday staycation in Devon, and how I mentioned that I had never visited either Cornwall or Devon but that they are definitely on my list of places in the UK to visit.

In every photo or TV programme I have ever seen on those two counties there is always sun shining brightly, beautiful blue beaches, and golden sands. The only downside for me is that it would take around six hours to drive down there and at the moment with a very active and demanding 20 month old toddler it would be incredibly hard to get us down there. After our trip to Great Yarmouth taking around eight hours to drive down rather than four, I can't imagine I want to try that quite yet. It's a good idea, because it gives me more time to really plan out my journey and research attractions and decide what we can visit that are suitable for our family needs.

I do love a staycation, or a nearcation, especially to a seaside town. I was lucky when I was a tween and teenager that my parents had a static caravan on a caravan site in Morecambe. Morecambe was definitely a nice place to be back then, there was a lovely (small) beach, attractions for everyone (they had a theme park!) and so many tourists would travel there making it a fantastic base for holidays and weekends there. I spent a lot of years, made a lot of friends, and some amazing memories there. It was truly a home from home and I had so many new experiences there that made me who I am today. I would love for Dexter to be brought up with a nearcation holiday home, or at least for him to experience proper British holidays at the seaside, or camping (if I ever felt I could go again!).

Parkdean Holidays, who have 24 family friendly holiday parks in the UK especially in Cornwall and Devon, have recently compiled a report on why UK holidaymakers would prefer a staycation down on the southwest coast this summer. It even shows that 41% of locals in Cornwall and Devon would actually prefer a nearcation on their neighbourhood coastline. These are incredibly popular holidays nowadays as it can prove to be much cheaper than travelling abroad. They've also discovered in their survey that 'ladies love a cream tea' - can I get a hell yes please?!, 'and more couples are trying surfing'.

There are so many attractions on the southwest coast that Parkdean have even created their very own 'insider's guide' showing the local's best kept secrets that are ideal for families, and holidaymakers of all ages. Some of the places included are Anstey's Cove (that also has an Agatha Christie trail) and the Lost Gardens of Heligan (both images shown) that look absolutely gorgeous and I could spend hours walking around these destinations and taking all their beauty in.

So have you thought about a staycation in the UK, or even a nearcation to explore a new attraction or beautiful scenery nearby? I've been trying to enjoy a few more local places this year, and I even managed to visit York and Harrogate, as well as spending a lot of time in Ilkley too this year and taking in lots of the gorgeous Yorkshire scenery.

Parkdean Holidays currently have a competition running on their site at the moment called Devon vs. Cornwall. You could be in with the chance of winning a family holiday! Just click which image you think represents either Devon or Cornwall. You have to be in it to win it!

And just think, you really could be having your cream tea in Cornwall or Devon, the most important question however, is jam or cream first? I'm definitely a jam then cream girl!

My four step guide to keeping your feet summer ready all year round | Beauty

In England the weather comes and goes as it pleases, meaning we can have summer in the middle of October or snow in the middle of August. This means that we can never quite have summer-ready feet, as summer can spring itself on us whenever mother nature pleases. Lets take this year, summer has only just started and we're in the middle of August.

This doesn't mean that you can't have a pedicure routine that is simple to keep up to all year round, meaning that you can have summer-ready feet in all seasons. With my simple step by step guide you can have a quick at-home pedicure on a weekly basis as part of your pampering session. It's very simple to keep up to this routine too, meaning you have no excuses when Spring comes along and you start showing your feet again, they will definitely be summer ready.

Step one: make sure you remove the dead skin from your heels and other areas of you feet using the Scholl Velvet Smooth* express pedi. The idea behind this is similar to a pumice stone except without all the hard labour. You simply turn the product on and roll it over your feet until they are smooth. I tend to roll it left to right to for stubborn skin. The new express pedi comes with diamond crystals in the roller head designed to remove stubborn, hard skin quicker without leaving your feet sore like other roller pedi devices on the market. I've been using this for quite some time and I absolutely love it. It's easily become a quick part of my pedicure routine.

Step two: use a foot scrub or exfoliator. Recently I've discovered a great range of foot care for very reasonable prices and these have easily fallen into my routine too. The foot scrub will remove any leftover dead skin from the express pedi above, and will remove and other skills cells left on your feet, making them smooth and soft and ready for the next step. My favourite, as pictured, is The Foot Factory Foot Scrub, Peppermint 177 ml and contains walnut grains to exfoliate whilst the peppermint cools and soothes your feet.

Step three: foot soak. If you have the luxury of a foot spa then go ahead, but unfortunately a lot of us only have the option of a bucket. Note to self - must buy a foot spa! With a foot soak, you can apply under running water to create a few bubbles and relaxation for your feet, or you can apply like a shower gel and clean your feet with it. The Foot Factory Foot Soak, Peppermint 177 ml, as it contains peppermint, leaves your feet and legs feeling cool, so this product is perfect to apply or soak your feet after you've been on your legs all day, or had a hard day at work to relive stress too.

Step four: The last step. To ensure that your feet stay silky soft and smooth you have to ensure your feet have a lot of moisture in the skin. There are several foot lotions on the market, but my favourite is The Foot Factory Foot Lotion, Peppermint 177 ml, yet again the peppermint is soothing and cooling to your skin so would be excellent to apply to the legs too. This particularly moisturiser is extra hydrating and contains extra essential moisturisers to keep your feet and legs hydrated.

It would be worth sticking to this four-step pedicure regime on a weekly basis however, always ensure your feet and hydrated so for step four it might be worth apply moisturiser every couple of days to ensure they are smooth and velvet-soft all year around.
