Afternoon Tea at Jeanette's Cakery, Saltaire | Lifestyle

Last month, after Dexter's little lip accident and his very first surgery, I headed over to Jeanette's Cakery in Saltaire for a little treat. Lots of bloggers and friends have recommended I go, and I've been meaning to for years but have just never gotten around to going. Even though I live 15 minutes away. I'm a bad afternoon tea fan I know.

And what did I have? Well of course I had to go for afternoon tea! I think afternoon tea is my most favourite meal ever. I love tea, cake, cute finger sandwiches and the array of small cakes that come with it. Their afternoon tea is an absolute bargain at only £8.95! Served from 12pm every day, you get a selection of finger sandwiches, a homemade scone with whipped cream (yeah I know right, not good unless it's clotted!) and jam, one of their handmade cupcakes of the day and a pot of tea. The sandwich fillings I opted for were egg and rocket mayonnaise and cheddar and apple plum chutney. Instead of the cupcake for some reason I had a caramel slice and a little strawberry mousse which was delicious. I also opted for the Earl Grey tea, delicious. Oh, and their milkshakes looked absolutely divine so I had to try the peanut butter flavour whilst I was there.

All in all I had a wonderful afternoon tea, for a fantastic price, and the service was fabulous. I even treat myself to one of their cute tote bags too! I would recommend calling them first and booking a table, I was lucky that when I called them they had a slot available half and hour later.
