British Corner Shop | Travel & Lifestyle

You may have already seen me mention British Corner Shop a few times over Twitter about how fantastic they are and how much I can't wait to use them when we move to China! The kind folks over at British Corner Shop sent me one of their boxes to have a look at some of the British products that I can buy when I'm overseas, and I certainly wasn't let down!

One thing I noticed when I was in China that although the supermarkets tend to have international produce stores, they don't actually stock British produce. It tends to be more Australian and New Zealand so there are still a lot of things I can't get. Take for instance, gravy granules, an essential item  in making my gravy for Christmas dinner!

So what did I receive in my British Corner Shop box? Bisto Gravy Granules (yes!), a jar of Branston Pickle, Jacobs Cream Crackers, a pack of Mr Kipling Cherry Bakewells, Frey Bentos Chicken & Mushroom Pie (now these are so retro but my gosh, I can't believe how much I forgot I loved them!), a tin of Heinz Chicken Soup, OXO Chicken Stock Cubes (another kitchen essential for me!), a packet of McVities Milk Chocolate Digestives, and a packet of Walkers Shortbread Fingers.
I had to show a picture of the packing, because everything was so well packaged. Nothing was broken, and there were no dents in any of the packaging for the products at all. And as soon as I saw the Cherry Bakewells, well they almost weren't included in the photo! I could have eaten the whole packet.

The idea behind their site is that you create an account, pick where your box is being shipped too (in my case China, and shipping is £39), then fill your box with goodies. It's really simple, and I love the fact that it works out how much weight you have left based on the products you put in your cart. For instance, if I put in 10 tins of soup the box would be much heavier than packets of biscuits. To get the best for your buck, I think it's essential that you mix and match the contents of your box so you can fit as much stuff in!

I absolutely love this service, and I know my other expat readers will too. It's such a travellers problem taking over tea bags and other goodies in your suitcase, especially when you have to ask your parents to stock up on goodies to bring over too(!), so this is a really good alternative. Me and the hubby have already gone through the store and making a list of things we know we'll need stocked in our cupboards ready for our next trip!

For you lucky readers, the awesome folks over at British Corner Shop are giving you a discount code for £15 off your first spend of £75 and over. Just enter code SATCHELSPEARLS15 at the checkout.  Be sure to let me know what you order!

*I was sent the box free of charge for review, but all content and opinions are my own. I absolutely love this box!
