#LeedsMayMeet at Baracoa, Leeds

Back in May I had the privilege of being one of the 30 attending one of the biggest blogger meet ups of the year. Last year, Hayley from TeaPartyBeauty organised a meet up that was one to certainly talk about. The goody bags we brought home were simply astonishing, and this year, again the goody bags were something to talk about, but having brands there too was simply amazing. I'll be doing a separate post on the goodies I brought home as this post would be too image heavy otherwise!

We were encouraged to bake as well, and I took along my mum's (yes my mum baked!) citrus drizzle cake. There were so many delights there that I would have loved to try, unfortunately I had a really bad migraine and only managed to eat one piece of brownie and chat to a few folks before I had to turn the day in and come home. I would have loved to have stayed longer as there were so many new bloggers I didn't have the opportunity to talk to! The event was held at Baracoa in Leeds, you may have seen the name pop up several times before on my blog as they hold the #HouseofFashion events too. There was so much space to actually manoeuvre round and talk to people at this event, that was something I was really glad about! Oh, and plenty of seating too, I didn't want to end up on the floor again like I did at Oriflame haha.

There were representatives from Eve Taylor, Espa, Lush, Rock Pamper Scissors and Cohorted there that I managed to have a quick chit chat to. Unfortunately I didn't manage to speak to the girls over at Uncommon Nonsense, but I am really familiar with their dresses already! I really enjoyed speaking to Eve Taylor as I love Eve's ethic for her beauty products. I haven't delved into their goody bag yet but will certainly be doing so too. Their prices are purse friendly as well, because they cut out the advertising and fancy packaging but still keeping it looking amazing. The ladies over at Espa brought lots of goodies along with them, and I must have come away with a goody bag costing well over £60 just from them alone! I'm normally weary of trying new beauty products as I'm allergic to a lot, but having used the bubble bath and the oil already (blog posts to come soon!) I'm already a convert to their products, and I can't wait to take their face samples with me when I head off to Munich! Ladies from the Leeds' Lush store had come over with some fabulous products and even brought the equipment with them so we could make our own bath bombs! That was a fantastic experience and I would love to do that again. Lastly, I managed to have a good old chinwag with Thom from Rock Pamper Scissors who are a fantastic new company that allow you to book your salon and beauty appointments in Leeds online, it's such a great idea as I hate speaking to people over the phone! There will be lots more to come from them soon!

Overall it was a fantastic day, unfortunately due to my migraine I had to leave a lot earlier than anticipated which was really rubbish. Another fantastic event Hayley, thanks so much!

  2. This looks like an amazing event! There never really seem to be that many events in the South West which is annoying as I have never been to one. :)

    1. You should create one of your own! Get together with bloggers in your area on Twitter and ask if they fancy going for coffee, that's actually how a lot of events in the Leeds area started :) x
