One Woman's Search For The Perfect Skin Care Regime...

As a lot of you may have seen over the past few days on Twitter, I've been going a little cray cray over skin care regimes. Now I do have one, which I will detail in a bit, and I am on a budget for the rest of the year so trying to use up all my old products. I'm happy to break my budget and invest on a really good skin care regime which is something I feel at the moment I really need. I'm not having a lot of luck with my pregnancy skin, it tends to be a lot oilier than usual and I'm having more spotty break outs. Lets be honest, no one likes break outs

So after my disappointing trial skin care regime with Ren Skincare, I've had a few suggestions on different brands to try, one of which being Skinetica and I've ordered a sample of their product to see how I go with it.

Here is my sort of skin care regime at the moment.

I'm using Shiseido Perfect Whip cleansing face foam to wash my face with (I bought another one of these when I was in China and I'm still using my first one I bought ages ago, and I also have the sister product of Perfect Milk which is the same but in more of a liquid formula). I alternate this with St. Ives Blemish Fighting Scrub when I feel I need a really good exfoliate and deep clean.

I follow that through with either the Clinique Clarifying Lotion in number 4, or alternate it with Etude House's Wonder Pore Freshener as toners.

Lastly I use Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel as it doesn't take long to sink into the skin and doesn't leave my face feeling oily like some moisturisers do.

I'm not really sure whether this is a good skin care regime, but it seems to do me alright and it's my go-to day to day regime I'm using at the moment. It works, then it doesn't work. I'm not sure whether it's my skin being picky or whether I'm using the wrong products.

Lately I haven't been wearing make up so I've just been doing this regime in the morning, normally I don't bother with anything at night unless I have make up on which I take off with a generic make up remover wipe (whichever I have in at that time), and leave my skin as it is...

So ladies, I would really appreciate your help!
What would you suggest I try?
I'm at the end of my tether really and would like to get rid of my super oily skin!

  1. I found that the Clinique system (especially the toner thing), made my skin horrendous, really really oily. I started using something from Marks and Spencers of all places, which is called "Formula" and has white and blue packaging. I use the cream cleanser (just wap it on with a cotton round and off again), toner and their day moisturiser. Another thing that personally doesn't help my oily skin is moisturising of an evening. In an evening I cleanse, tone, and put a bit of La Roche Posay's Effclar Duo on.

My skin has never been less oily/blemishy. Good luck hun because it could just purely be your hormones making your skin nuts :(

    1. I've seen the Formula stuff before but never actually got around to using it, I'll add it to my list.
I've always moisturised in an evening too, maybe that's another reason why I'm so oily in a morning! I'll avoid moisturising in an evening and see how that goes, I do normally tone in an evening so will just keep doing that.
      Thank you lovely! xo

  2. I've yet to find a product that will combat my oily skin as well, so I wish the best of luck to you in finding one! xx
